Amber watched Ignis’s eyes follow Megyn as she approach the girl they had been talking about. “I suppose not.” Ignis said in reply to Amber, holding out the medical kit so she could take it. “She doesn’t look too trusting. Sedating her is probably your best bet for treating her.” Ignis glanced at the girl again. “Although it’s not going to help build her trust.”
“We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it,” Amber replied, taking the kit from Ignis. “Right now I’m a little more concerned about her staying alive.” Amber tucked the kit under her arm and turned to follow Megyn. Wait, where’s Megyn?!Amber scanned the room frantically. The entire back wall was obscured by a large crowd of well-dressed individuals funneling in from another room.
Great. Now how am I going to find them? Amber tightened her grip on the kit and began pushing her way through the crowd towards the spot where she last saw the bleeding girl. I hope Megyn gets to her before she faints. What an idiot am I for letting her go without me! Amber apologized to a large man in a black tuxedo as she muscled past him. I wonder why all these people are here anyways? Did they all get siphoned here from somewhere else, or are they all supposed to be here? A lady carrying a small, pink poodle gasped as Amber nearly tumbled her over. Well, whatever’s going on, one thing’s for sure; I’m never going anywhere ever again without asking Buck to–“AHA!” Amber exclaimed a little too loudly as a server passed by; he jumped at her cry and spilled twelve glasses of bubbly blue liquid onto the floor. Amber probably would’ve helped him clean up had her attention not been focused on the two figures huddled in a dim corner of the back wall.
“Megyn! MEGYN!” Amber yelled at the top of her lungs, but the noise in the room drowned her out. “Argh. Well, at least they’re out of the way of the crowd. That should help with treating the girl.” Amber pushed past a few gawking couples, then slipped through the thinning crowd and jogged over towards Megyn and the injured girl.
“Just forget you ever saw me!” the girl was saying as she moved away from Megyn. “I don’t want or need help. Just let me rest!”
I guess Ignis was right after all, Amber frowned inwardly as she approached the girls and knelt beside Megyn. “Sorry it took me so long to get here,” Amber breathed out an apology as she opened the first aid kit. “The crowd’s absolutely crazy. How’s she doing?”
