@christlover Oh wow. I like Theseus’ reactions to everything Caedon and Vladlena were saying. xD Especially the part about the space alien. Just a side note, the characters can’t actually leave the castle. The “room” that Theseus just opened will have to be part of the castle, like a big walled garden or something. (The magic allows the rooms to be bigger on the inside than they appear on the outside.)

“Wow that meal was good!” Theseus exclaimed. “Now that we have gotten some sustenance, we ought to keep exploring. Maybe we will find a way out of this place!”

Caedon blinked. What was Theseus going on about now? He hadn’t said much until now. Reluctantly, Caedon stood. Though he wanted to find a way home, he didn’t want to go back into the darkness where he could barely see his hand in front of his face, much less the monsters that probably lurked there.

At that moment, a ball of fire appeared in Theseus’ hand. Caedon froze. The monsters didn’t lurk outside. They were right here. He clenched his fists, wanting nothing to do with Theseus until he at least explained. No words made it past his gritted teeth, however. Father would have had no problem confronting Theseus, but Caedon wasn’t ready for that yet. Vladlena had already followed Theseus, her face expressionless.

As much as Caedon hated to go with them, he hated to be left alone. Silently, he picked up the dagger Mr. Lucas had left on the table and slid it into his boot. No more cowering and tears. He needed to get home alive.
