@seekjustice Wow! This is a lot fancier than I thought it was going to be. I thought you would name a genre and I would just dump all my thoughts about it here until I said something that someone wanted to talk about.

I started reading the Lord of the Rings, something that will probably take several months to finish given that I read it on the bus when I have nothing else to do. I’m not even past the prologue. Did you know there are THREE kinds of hobbits?

I recently skimmed a Beauty and the Beast retelling. I didn’t find it very interesting—which is why I skimmed it. It was basically just the original story but from Beast’s POV, and he didn’t have anything interesting to say. He thought basically what you’d think he was thinking. It was a retelling not worth telling.

That got me thinking—what makes a retelling worth telling? I have like five and a half Beauty retellings, and I think they are all different enough from both the original story and each other that I could use all of them.
