I love how in the Fellowship (movie), he is so bright-eyed and eager. This is the ring of ultimate darkness? Alright, time to stuff this thing where no one will ever find it. We need to bring it out of the Shire? I’ll leave first thing in the morning, nevermind that I’ve never left the Shire before. Need someone to take the Ring to Mordor, dying in the process? I will do it. He knew that he wasn’t coming back from this trip but he does it anyways!

Also, I just am imagining Boramir’s thoughts when Frodo says “I will take it!” as going something like. “I don’t even know who this small person is, and I am not entirely convinced he isn’t 10 years old.”
