Your worlds sound really cool!  Maybe your futuristic one could be Earth in a parallel universe or something like that.

Hmm, maybe I’ll do a cross between a dragon and something else for them to ride.  And then there will be giant lava lizards that live in/on the volcanoes that they hunt and eat.  What should I cross with the dragon?  It doesn’t have to be just one thing; it can be a mixture of 3+ animals/creatures.

Chicken-sized dragons could be extremely hazardous.  And hilarious.
