@noahlitle aww, I’m so glad Jake and Tilly’s story inspired you! 😀 I see there are no talking squirrels, though, which keeps it from being copyright. 😉

Anyway, I enjoyed the story! The time jumps were a little confusing at times. I wasn’t sure what was a flashback and what wasn’t. Sometimes you put it in italics, and other times you didn’t, and once, when you had italics, it didn’t seem like it was a flashback. I guess I had a hard time understanding if we were supposed to be reading the story as one giant story using three different instances (which it seemed like you were doing, but I only realized that late into the story) or if he’s just remembering things unrelated. Like there were times that the dialogue wouldn’t make sense unless what was said in the flashback had actually been said in present time.
