I’ve been suddenly transported to another universe you say? Well, it’s a good thing I have prepared for just such an occasion. A couple of years ago I wrote an entire guide called “A Guide to Surviving Sudden Transportation into Another Universe and Making it Back to Your Own in Mostly One Piece” because I thought it was funny and I was tired of all the books that were Doing It Wrong.

The first thing I would notice is probably the surroundings. This may distract me for a few moments before I remember step #1 of my guide—Pay attention to what brought you here. It’s the best chance you have of getting back. So then I would look at what brought me here. If I couldn’t identify it, I would look at my surroundings to see if there was anything unusual and examine myself to see if I was wearing something I didn’t normally wear (like a new bracelet or something.)
