@hope-ann Having a place where we can jot down our random ideas is definitely a big part of maintaining and finding inspiration. As you said, it’s something we do much more on our own, but it definitely relates to the whole subject. I have an app on my phone that I use to take down random moments of inspiration or ideas that strike me out of nowhere. Interestingly, one of Daeus’ points in his discussion piece for this week relates directly to this, in particular, about how we can use those random small ideas and incorporate them into an ‘ocean’ idea in order to strengthen the story as a whole.
@princess-foo XD Oh my gosh! That little story is such a funny take on the Sleeping Beauty premise. You’re right, too – there are a lot of fun story ideas that can come from asking a few “what if”s. It’s an excellent source of inspiration because you just have to tweak an existing story, not come up with something entirely new. That might be enough to spark a whole train of ideas that can become fully their own in time. 🙂
