@j-a-penrose I write because it’s something I love. Name anything I do on a daily basis and I’ll most likely say I prefer writing. That’s probably not something to put on a job application, though. 😛 Sometimes I worry where I’ll be in ten years. (I dislike any form of math, and science does not appeal to me.)
I also write to communicate. That sort of fits into the “ministry” section but there’s a lot more to it. I have always loved books. A well-written book sticks in my mind. Even better, it makes me think. I want to do that with my books.
I am not a good speaker in real life. When I try to make a point, the words tangle on my tongue. Writing unlocks that door for me.
Recently something strange and worrying has happened. I’ve never had so much of a struggle trying to write. The words get stuck halfway between my brain and my fingers. Perhaps this is writer’s block. Perhaps my inner critic is snatching away the words before they can be typed, or perhaps my mind needs a reboot. I just hope this isn’t permanent. Losing my ability to write would be like losing my voice.
I use to write because I wanted something fun to do and since I myself couldn’t have a pet dragon, why not write about someone who does?
@evelyn Yeah, that’s exactly the same for me. xD I started writing after watching HTTYD for the first time.
