@samantha-pen I haven’t gone to a historical reenactment exactly, but I went to a 1940s dance (they called it a ball, but it wasn’t a ball… 😉 ) in Colorado once.  I wore authentic vintage clothes and there were actors playing Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, and a few other historical figures.  It was really fun!  I looked up the River Through Time reenactment and it looks cool.  Are you dressing up for it?  If so, what costume are you wearing?

Your story idea sounds great!  I’d love to read it once you’ve written it.  I agree with @valtmy though, that it’s a lot of story for just ten pages.  It sounds more like a novella to me.  Or else you’re going to have to do a lot of “backstory telling” where you just let the readers know what happened without showing it as it happens.
