@evelyn Ooooh. similar to what the others have said. As far as I can tell, High Fantasy is referring to fantasy (any length as a novel) that has set and definite laws for magic, as well as a really well-developed world.
Low fantasy is often referring to kingdom fantasy where the ‘fantastical’ elements are excluded or lessened.
But yes! There are so many types of fantasy. I mean, You’ve got High Fantasy, Epic Fantasy, Portal Fantasy, Gaslamp Fantasy, Contemporary Fantasy, Political Fantasy, Magical Realism, Historical Fantasy and even the famous ‘Allegorical Fantasy.’ I love them all so muuuch! (But seriously. I think there are over 200 subgenres or something like that.)
