Hello, Audrey thank you for replying 🙂

I’m sorry but I don’t think your two recommendations would help me at the moment with my block :/

But here are the spoilers if you want to look and try to work it out for me, please 🙂

    The Eclipse Trilogy:

At the start of the first book, Garth is cold, distant and temperamental.

He’s living life with almost no effort at all especially at reclaiming his life.

He only seems to care about his sick grandfather but that only seems to give him reason to keep acting the way he is since his parents’ death.

One-day Garth buys a pocket watch (that reminds him of his parents) for half price.

He later is kidnapped for it and when he finds that it can change time, he sees it as the only way his life could ever get better.

He doesn’t care what his pursuers want with the watch themselves or even much of what his companions want on the matter either.

Over the journey, he does worry about his grandfather but dismisses it with thoughts that he’s not that weak or it would be erased when he changes time.

In the end, Garth loses the key to his pursuers.

But he is almost not as upset about it because he has come to like his two companions who he wouldn’t have met without moving to Match.

But the three find themselves trapped in the city they found the key in.

At the start of the second book, Garth has become overprotective, annoyingly protective.

He also does everything in his power to not have the watch destroyed which one of his companions thinks is the best option.

Two people close to him die which furthers his actions but it’s not gone unnoticed.

After he is confronted, things go downhill.

In the end, the pursuers get the watch and use it with Garth barely being able to tag along.

The third book starts with Garth in the past with his enemies trying to get rid of him but somehow, he regains the watch again and goes back to his time.

But he finds that things have changed for the worse than he had ever seen before.

The world is ripped apart by war and it’s where he gives up.

Only trying to survive, his enemies find out he is alive and still see him as a threat.

With his life threatened more than it has ever before he is convinced by someone that his only option is to fix his mistake.

After a long journey, Garth confronts his enemies, gets the key and goes to the past.

He meets a younger version of his enemy and they talk.

After that Garth goes back to his time and when he finds that everything is back to normal he destroys the watch.

Then he tries to better his life by doing something that at the start of book one he chose not to do.

For Feynor: (Not sure how many books there are)

In the beginning, Rick seems arrogant and puts all of himself into his destiny.

Rosa hates his moral compass but unknowingly secretly envies him for his destiny.

Over their journey the two are forced to work together and when they meet the one threating their world, instead of killing him they come to an agreement.

But when things seem to be getting better they find Feynor’s ruler dying from a poison (that originates outside of Feynor) they can save him from.

But Rick is framed for the attempted murder but he and Rosa quickly theorize that it is the advising creature Liwvi thanks to finding the ingredients in his chamber beforehand.

But they can’t prove it and Rick escapes.

Next book Rick is on the run and Rosa is not allowed to leave the palace.

Rick tries to find help outside of Feynor to prove Liwvi isn’t who he once was.

While Rosa tries to do the same from the inside, Liwvi catches on and reveals to her a secret.

With help from the dwarves and his once enemies, Rick breaks into the palace to rescue Rosa.

But he finds a secret that breaks him.

His destiny wasn’t to save the world but to be a baker a hobby of his.

Liwvi reveals that no one has had the destiny to save the world, that Rick and his predecessors were living a lie.

Liwvi begins his plan and takes over Feynor but Rosa, Rick and the army he had brought escape.

Rick has given up, having built his whole life on a fake destiny, he doesn’t believe he could help defeat Liwvi and begins to hate his old-time hobby.

But in the end, he gets over this and defeats Liwvi and with peace restored both Rick and Rosa find worth in themselves.
