@kate Oooo. I can relate to ya, Kate. Though I feel like I take myself seriously as a writer, I hate talking about it to non-writerly people. I don’t think this is necessary because they don’t take writing seriously as a ministry, but because I feel they won’t take storytelling seriously in general. I have this little nagging feeling that tells me I need to accomplish something big before I actually tell people I’m a writer so I seem legit. Buuuuuut I shouldn’t look at it that way because when failure comes and I don’t end up achieving my definition of success in the next five years, it’s gonna hurt. Writing is about the journey, not just the milestones I reach.
