Surely we can find some place with water? Outside the temple perhaps. That’ll keep you cool.” He picked her up again, walking straight forward. “I’ll find something, maybe there are people around.”

Kaede’s eyes dropped to the claws then back up with a disinterested look. “Now with threats. I don’t like being threatened. Especially when I haven’t done anything to deserve such treatment. Anyone can say what they like, but so many get offended at the twitch of a hair and soon enough its daggers in the back in the middle of the night. So I will say this once, young one.” Kaede kept his voice even with a bored tone. “Don’t threaten me.”
