Tinke laughed as the whole island groaned and shook, as if it were a bear waking up from winter’s nap. This was fun. She didn’t know being with these people would be fun. Well, really the real girl, Shara was fun. The boy was like everyone else who locked her up. The craggy ground split, water spewing from the opening. The island was pulling apart, rock by rock.

“Whee!” Tinke hopped around the dividing rocks.

They pulled back about five feet from each other, Tinke having let go of the real girl’s hand, before suddenly slamming back together again. The movement caused the lithe girl to slip, landing on the rocks. She lay there giggling, ignoring the evident pain. Just as quickly as the rocks had come together, they slid apart again, jarring as they clamped down together again, spraying water high into the air.

“This is fun!” Tinke rubbed her eyes.

As if they day couldn’t get weirder. Or worse. Llewellyn couldn’t decide which. He reached for the weapon on his back, then released it. He didn’t want to drag any of those skeletons any closer, seeing as how he had no idea how to kill them. Maybe crush their arms and legs. Acid rain to boot as well. The others dove into a saloon.

Jumping into the air, Llewellyn pulled back with his wings, thrusting them forward quickly with all his strength. A mighty gust of air threw back the leading skeletons, forcing the others to retreat from the dust storm. Dropping to the ground, Llewellyn dove for the entrance, dust gritting in his eyes. He managed to bang his head against the upper part of the door before actually gaining entrance. Rubbing his head, he pulled his wings in tight, hunching slightly to fit in the crammed saloon.
