I listen to a lot of classics, soundtracks, and piano pieces. I’m also a fan of Vocaloid, but it really depends on what I’m writing.  I also like the Piano Guys!

I couldn’t listen to music while I was writing to start with. But I can write now with music (mainly those without lyrics). I think it also depends on what you’re writing…like Mozart doesn’t work with my novel WIP since it’s dark and Mozart is anything but dark, so more like Chopin, Beethoven, Shostakovich would work. Or Liszt. But he goes crazy with his piano pieces, so.  Maybe you just haven’t found the ‘right’ music to go with your writing. Or no music really does work in some cases.
