Calla jumped up, dagger in hand. “Alagwyn.” She quietly said to herself. “If there’s any time to show yourself, now would be good.” A wolf lunged at her and she stabbed it in the eye. Hala, the sparrow launched herself at the wolf, pecking furiously at its head. “Hala!” Calla screamed. “What are you doing here? Go back! You’ll be killed!”
