Calla frowned. “It’s snow, Eiri.”

Eero put away his poisons and surveyed the horizon. “I don’t know a whole lot about this sort of stuff. Are those mountains over there?”

Reyna nodded. “It looks like it.”

“Where there’s mountains, there’s shelter– trust me.” Calla said. She looked at her eagle, her voice dropping to a whisper. “Alagwyn, I need you to go look for shelter. Come back if you find any.”  The eagle called and flapped into the air.

“They’re a long way away–” Matz said doubtfully.

Eero nodded resolutely. “I’m sure we can make it.”

“Unless we can find shelter that’s closer, the mountains are our best bet.” Calla said, “And that rock has nothing in the way of natural shelter.”
