“NO.” Eiri struggled against the power preventing her from acting. “You monster!!”

The cloaked lady smiled. “Am I? Am I truly a monster? It’s quite possible, yes. But now it’s time for this conversation to come to an end.” The smiled turned into a crazed grin and the woman snapped her fingers again.

Then, the world went black.

The next thing Eiri knew, she was cold. For the first time in her life she felt what she could only describe as utterly, freezing cold. At least, if this wasn’t what the dictionary meant by cold then she didn’t know what was.

Preparing herself, she cracked her eyes open. What she saw was… white. White everywhere. She pushed herself to her feet and wrapped her arms around herself, shivering. Then she realized the only other people there were Matz and Reyna. She gasped. Where were little Lex and Kor!?!?

“G-Guys! T-The others are g-gone!” Eiri’s teeth chattered, and a feeling of worry overwhelmed her.

(It’s not actually that cold. But Eiri lives on a lava planet that’s eternally hot so… to her it’s freezing. It’s more like… I dunno the temperature of freezing or something? Not cold enough to kill them, but definitely uncomfortable even if you’re used to normal Earth temperatures.)

(I know I know. I go from desert, to the other extreme. XD)

Korzen bit his lip, he had no idea what to do about a broken leg. He could try to splint it, but he’d only ever done that in training. Never with an actual broken bone. That and he didn’t see anything that he could use to splint little Lex’s leg.

“Well, I can carry you. And then… do you know what happened to the others? Cuz I don’t see anyone else…”

Little Lex shook her head sadly. “No…” She almost looked like she’d start crying again, but then she lifted her hands up to Kor. Kor reached down and picked little Lex up, trying not to jostle her wounded leg. Lex squeaked and Kor winced, apparently he wasn’t really succeeding.

“Sorry.” Kor straightened and scanned the surrounding area. Then he heard a groan. “Lex did you…?”

“I think so.” She sounded worried and hopeful all at once.

Kor walked toward the source of the noise, biting his lip as Lex winced with every step he took. “Sorry…” Then Kor almost tripped over a person. Scarlet. He must have been the one who groaned. Especially since he was holding his head in his hands and still looked thoroughly disoriented. “Scarlet… are you okay? And do you know how to take care of broken bones?”
