There’s no magic in the world I’m currently building, but there is world building through plot. 🙂  In the story, some of the earliest world building happens as the main character thinks to herself about how the inventor that she works for is changing the world through his work.  Since the story is set in the Victorian era with steampunk elements, the audience wants to see how their world is different from ours during that time period. That’s where the inventions come in. And then later in that chapter, the MC finds herself in a conversation about current events, which furthers both world building and plot. Conversations can be great for world building, at least if it’s done in a way so it’s not a information download. 🙂
