Thank you for your input to my question! 🙂 I recently watched Rogue One as well as The Last Jedi. Comparing The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and Last Jedi – Rogue One wins. The one downside was that quick scene changes – I felt like it was a bit difficult to follow at first and a lot of things were packed in… perhaps a bit too tightly?

I was disappointed in terms of the radical feminism (again) in the Last Jedi. However, I think the two themes about hubris and the past (esp. concerning failure and disillusionment) were some good and notable points. It was also funny, but somewhat shallow overall. And a bit anti-climatic for the ending. Although I think the creators should have added more depth with these themes and focused less on gender “equality” – did you notice how many female leaders there were? It’s terrible when identify political messages are subtly placed in stories. Rey is still on the bottom of my “favorite characters” list. Luke and Ren and Poe would have to be towards the top. I liked the twists Kylo Ren introduced.
