My story is set in the real world but in a fictional town called Frankberg. It was founded by a man named Frank Bergstein some years ago and never did do that well. It, like many of the surrounding towns, was fairly small and poor. As a result of that, there was a lot of crime in the area, and very little to stop it. Things got a bit better when Frankberg got the chief of police before this one, and improved drastically after the installment of it’s most recent (and current) Chief. There still is a lot of crime, but that has more to do with the way the city is set up.
Writing this all down, I’m starting to think I need to do more worldbuilding. I have other silly details (there is some folklore about a Native-American “princess”) but I don’t have much more concrete than that, unless you talk very recent history, like the last 20 years or so.
In terms of the larger world, the other bit of worldbuilding has to do with a top-secret international organization responsible for tracking down suspicious and illegal leadership (from companies to countries) and disposing of them through the legal prosses. I’m not sure when it was founded, but likely it has existed for over 50 years.
