@kari-karast  (sorry, it took so long for me to respond on here)

Anna nodded, decided to turn down the left path, and willed her invisibility to completely cover her.  At first, she just heard the soft shuffle of her own boots on the stone floor.  But, she did see a dim glimmer of light peeking out from the around the next bend up ahead.  Anna lightened her steps to keep as quiet as possible and followed the light.

After quite a number of twists and turns, the ground below Anna’s boots leveled out to a straight path.  Why couldn’t they just have made all the paths straight? she thought.  The occasional torches propped in their holders on the walls revealed the rest of the path to Anna.  The stone ground angled upward into a slant with steps eventually formed into the rock as the path became more steep.  We’re getting closer to the outside, she realized.  She wanted to return back down the path and tell Kieron right away.  But…what lies up above?

Anna tiptoed carefully up the stairs, keeping her eyes focused on the thin whitish beam of light above rather than her own footing below.  She began to hear faint voices and the brief clanging of weapons echoing from ahead.  Anna squinted her eyes against the bright sunlight.  Geez, being down in the near darkness does things to people when they see the light of day again.  She looked out of the archway she now stood under into the bright, stone courtyard before her.

Not too many soldiers milled about; fifteen at the most.  Anna half expected a swarm of soldiers to be scurrying around everywhere.  Barrels of many types of weapons and other tools lined the courtyard’s high walls.  Up to Anna’s left was another staircase that curved to the left and reached the height of the walls.  She hesitantly took a couple steps out into the courtyard and craned her neck up to see what was above the archway she just came from.  A stout, round enclosed room with a roof shaped like a conical hat sat atop the stone building.  There was a small set of stairs leading up to its door.  Anna thought it looked worth exploring.

I’ve gotta get Kieron up here.  As Anna navigated her way back to where she left him, she realized that bringing Kieron up there could be harder than she originally thought.  After all, he can’t turn invisible like I can.  We’d be caught instantly.  Anna willed her invisibility off and rounded the last corner.  And there he was, waiting for her to return.
