Also, it wasn’t really the dark side of The Hidden Hand that bothered me; kidnapping, murder plots, and deception sounds like my cup of tea (not to ruin the lovely tea conversation for everyone else… XD). It was more the sensual side of it. I felt like the bedroom scene and the clearly evil intentions of the villains went a little too far in their descriptions, at least to be considered family friendly. I was younger when I read it, so it really bothered me then; it may not bother me as much now, but I still don’t know if I’d be completely comfortable with it. 😛Hmmm…my sister read The Hidden Hand twice out loud to me when I was a kid…I was probably 7 or 8 the first time and around 12 the second time and I don’t remember anything inappropriate…maybe my memory is just bad. 😛 I should read it again and see what I think of it…
