Okay, so I finally realized that there is only so much one can edit. There are still quite a lot to fix, but I decided to upload part 1 of my novel…Please bear with my horrifying grammar and spelling, not to mention the entire chaos. I would appreciate any comments, and I understand that this is kind of long.
A few things I would like to know:
- Is the pacing weird? I never took much note to the pacing until now, but one person pointed out it’s kind of fast…and here I imagined I was going too fast.
- What would you say the prose remind you of? I know that it sort of changes throughout the story (esp. since I wrote the first few chapters some years back), so are there anything I should change in that aspect?
- Are there any cliches that I should know about in the story?
- Was the story confusing? (My siblings were a little confused. Okay, maybe not little. Little like translating DNA and RNA sequences without any background in Biology.) If so, which part was hard to understand?
- Do you know what genre you’re reading? (Obviously, I might throw the synopsis out there, but just by reading the story, would you know?
And lastly, which character was your favourite? If there are any “wasted” characters, I’d love to know, although some of them get more spotlight in part 2.
Thank you for bearing with my totally not confusing novel!
And here’s the link (I nearly forgot):
