Well… I don’t think that I would call the sovereignty of God socialism, just as I would not confuse it will a Hutterite community. Even so, God is the only one who should ever be given ultimate power, because he is the only one who is not corruptable. Even in heaven, we will be rewarded for what we did on this earth, and won’t be treated all the same. Those who were martyred will receive a special reward for those who were martyred, and those who served God in another way will be given a different reward.

I feel that socialism slips very easily into the government defining what is good and bad, right and wrong, which is not the place of the government (in the way that it defies the law of God). The government is to implement the law of God in a way that allows a country to live freely, and ultimately, shouldn’t the throb and soul of a country be to worship God? That is the reason why humanity exists, for the glory of God.

So, to close my thoughts, @princess-foo, I am very concerned when anyone suggests socialism in this world because it has never been successful. I believe socialism on this earth is a bad seed that brings forth bad fruit.

In the end, though, I agree with @wordsmith, that yes, one day, God will bring all things about for his own glory, and I agree that maybe it will be persecution that will strength the church and make it strong. We see this happening in places like China, where there is pressure, faith is made strong. This is comforting, that God brings all things to glorify him in the end, this world is not eternal, the seen will pass away and the unseen will remain, we will all glorify God, and the truth will become clear. I don’t claim to understand the full truth of anything. I believe what I believe, and there is still much I can learn, but I have the hope that one day God will reveal his full truth to us when darkness is no more. In closing, I really want to make sure that I am not leaving anyone thinking that I have been trying to force my opinions or beliefs on anyone, I’m simply sharing what I believe, and if God leads you in another belief that is not contrary to scripture, then I can agree to disagree. Thanks to everybody for what everyone has said, it’s been really interesting to hear what different people believe, and it helps me to understand better what I believe. God bless, @ericawordsmith
