Just wanted to point out that it was actually me who said this:
I think it’s so easy for us as Christian’s just to stand back and let stuff happen and when things get really bad we start freaking out and are like “quick, somebody do something!”

Sorry, I should have clarified that paragraph better…I see how that would be confusing…as I read over it now I see that it doesn’t really make sense and isn’t really true. What I meant was that Christian’s can become so passive that we just let stuff happen…and then we wonder at the out come like we never saw it coming. Does that make sense?
Ugh…I hate when I can’t express myself right. 😡
Also, I didn’t really have the government in mind when I posted that.
One thing I think we should remember is that we shouldn’t be surprised when the world acts un-Christian. In Revelations (I can’t think of specific verses but) it hints heavily that the world will get worse. Jesus tells us we will face persecution in this world, and while in America we have been blessed with tons and lots and a bunch of freedom, it should not be surprising the culture is turning against us.Yes, I completely agree…I even thought of bringing this up myself. But I think what @ericawordsmith, and @sarah-inkdragon and I were lamenting was the inactivity and wrong mindsets of Christians today…we weren’t talking about fixing the world or America.
And yes, the world is getting worse, but that doesn’t mean we stop working or serving…in fact I think the times we live in call for more love and deeper compassion to those around us than ever before
I think I agree with you about politics too…although I am the type of person who doesn’t really worry/ involve myself in them much. 🙂
