Not to sideline the topic here, but hey, @noahlitle @eden-anderson: An Alpha reader is someone who reads your unedited/unfinished/incredibly rough manuscript and gives you feedback. A Beta reader is someone who reads your edited, polished draft and gives you feedback for the final revisions — ie what parts seemed slow, what characters they didn’t connect with, choppy phrasing, etc. They’re like glorified proof-readers.
