Mm. Thank you so much for this. It’s very helpful! I just wanted to say, I didn’t want any of this to come across as harsh or critical or accusatory of INFPs… I have several INFP friends, and I want to learn how to understand them (and any INFP) better, since sometimes communication can be harder. 🙂
I can definitely understand why people asking for a hard-cut answer when there’s so much to process and so much to think about is difficult to deal with… something to keep in mind for myself and my interaction with INFPs.
Also good to keep note of making sure nothing comes across a different way than I intend…
One thing I’ll say is while INTJs don’t like to explore their emotions a lot, I know for myself at least, I do still feel them deeply. Maybe some INTJs are robots with thicc skin, but I sadly am not one of them. 😉
Anyway, thank you so much for this! Very helpful. Last thing I wanted to do was ask a few questions… maybe pick up from you if it’s true or not. So if you wouldn’t mind, I have a few INFP observations I’ve collected (from the few I’ve known)… actually kinda like a self-reassurance when I was stressed out bc of INFP things. XD Maybe you could say how ‘true or false’ or say how accurate or inaccurate they are?
1. INFPs sometimes answer briefly and vaguely not because they are annoyed, but because they are distracted by or busy with stuff in their own lives.
2. INFPs will pretty much never go into detail about or explain said stuff.
3. INFPs will retreat into themselves and not tell you when they’re going through stuff; much less what that stuff is.
4. INFPs are always enigmatic, mysterious, and probably vague. They enjoy games in speech, and not direction explanation as much.
5. INFPs will mentally strain you, confuse you, and stress you out. Don’t ever assume you’ll understand them. Just try to be a good friend. (Okay, this one was written when I was stressed and ticked, you don’t have to answer that… ahem. XD)
6. INFPs may seem vague, when really they just want you to take the time to think.
