I’m not sure if this is what you were looking for but here’s my attempt XD

When he was a kid, he wasn’t tall enough to reach the ceiling, even if he stood on his bed. So he stuck his glow in the dark stars to the walls instead, only as high as his bony arms would reach.

But when his daughter was born, he stuck her stars on the ceiling. Just like his dad could have done if he had been around.

She added a braid in her hair every time she lost a loved one. Some ran across the top of her head. Some dangled behind her ears and spilled onto her shoulders. The criss-crossing hair looked like stitches, sewing up the wounds she couldn’t let go of.

Then came the day when she cut them all loose and moved on.

She was in a perpetual state of making paper stars. Tear a strip of paper, fold it, puff it out. She had thousands of them in boxes and bags, in vases and in piles on her desk. She didn’t know why she did it, seeing as she would never find someone who deserved them all.

At her wedding, they threw the stars instead of confetti.

will those work? XD My characters all have a bunch of weird quirks and details so maybe I overdid the drama but EH, it’s something.
