Hello fellow Avensbeckers!

I’m the other Gabrielle (so cool to see we share a name @gabriellepollack 😉), and I’m excited to meet you all!

1. I write YA fantasy of various sub genres, along with some short stories and poems.

2. My current WIP is tentatively titled “Speak to the Sea” and is a story about a horse jockey who gets shipwrecked on the island of Ys (think cross between Atlantis and Venice, with hippocamps.) It explore what it means to be home, and where you find your identity. I literally dreamed up the idea of this story.

3. Reading. Always reading. 😉

4. Ooh, this is a hard one. I’m going to go with a hippocamp for right now, because I adore the ocean.

5. Just one? Well, I live and breathe words, lol. I started reading books before I even went to preschool. I read Little House on the Praire in kindergarten, I think The Black Stallion around first grade, White Fang in second grade, The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood in third, etc. I’ve even been known to read the phone book when nothing else was available. It was only a matter of time before I began to write my own stories.
