@j-a-penrose Thanks for the summary! Here’s my thoughts:

    • When we say “large island”, do we mean something roughly the size of the combined landmass of earth? Are there other smaller islands somewhere else? (Here’s an idea; have a sunken city somewhere?)
    • What about vocalizer technology for sentient dragons? It would make sense for at least the Great Dragons if they had some sort of P.A. system- the bracelets would still act as a more subtle “talk-into-wristwatch” type of communication for their attendants/pilots.
    • If I understand you correctly, will the majority of the setting (~75-80%) be at renaissance/steampunk tech level? That way we can focus our creative ideas; we’d still have some sci-fi settlements, but they’d be like Rivendell or Mirkwood.
    • If the above, how about for the few advanced places that are inherently based on sci-fi level tech (such as Polodoris) still have some sci-fi level facilities but still be down at steampunk-level manufacturing capabilities? They could still manufacture replacement parts, but we wouldn’t be seeing anything like mass-produced power armor yet.
    • Ooh, good idea on the post-apocalyptic disaster areas; still have some large scars on the land.
    • I like the idea of some organization working behind the scenes to try and get society back on its feet. It seems like that’d be something some of the sentient Great Dragons would be behind it (such as Haleodoris and Vidente above); though others might have their own goals or be too tied up with other concerns.

Here’s some other questions I had:

    – How much would the general populace know about the disaster? Would it be largely forgotten and something considered only by the counsels of the wise?
    – Are we set on the general physiology of the dragons? If so, do we want to start populating it with some nations/independent figures? (We’d probably make most of them up for each story, but this would give us tools to link each story to the wider setting).
