@wordsmith – I actually don’t usually shake a guy’s hand unless we were just introduced. I do shake our pastor’s hand, and several older gentleman’s, but not younger guys because of trying to limit idle contact between the opposite sexes. I know shaking hands isn’t that big of a deal, but you have to make a line and start somewhere.

Most of the young people in our church don’t shake hands between guys and girls, and we actually usually do head inclinings and smiles like you see in the British movies. I never thought about how funny that was until now. Huh. 🙂

Which is why it’s odd in our church when pastor says ‘Greet one another this morning’. The idea is a time just to say hi to people, and such, but sometimes it’s a little awkward for the young people cause we’re just standing around and saying hey.
