I agree that the Star Wars example was cool but got tiring. It reminded me of something common among children — obsessions.

Good analysis, Julianne. Children aren’t really villains, but they’re oh ever so selfish!

As I’ve thought about this, one thing I believe really defines a child’s voice is that they may not have well-formulated opinions, but they generally have strong opinions. For instance, they may not know what in the world a president is, but they may believe he’s out to get them. Or they may have never met their dad, but the could have vivid pictures of him in their mind.
