@j-a-penrose @cassie-hartfinh Nice idea! Now, to brainstorm… Why should she be jumping off the train? My first thought is that she’s running from someone. Then I think of the orphan trains that traveled across America back in the day, bringing children to different parts of the country so they could be adopted. Maybe the girl could be on a train sort of like that and she jumps off because she doesn’t want to go? She doesn’t want to leave her home and be adopted out to someone else?

If we want a different take, the train could be in a steampunk or futuristic world, and the girl has either taken the wrong train or is running from someone and has to jump off the train to get away from them. Maybe she’s a pickpocket and has stolen someone’s golden pocketwatch or their money. Maybe she has a big imagination… (I always like kids with big imaginations.)

@esjohnson I love Biblical historical fiction! I’m reading a series in that genre called the A.D. Chronicles, and it’s amazing. 😀
