Hades had decided to observe the conversation between Alessio and Leana. It probably was none of his business, but nobody was stopping him.

“I…I’ve only been a messenger.” Leana said “Riding a horse from outpost to outpost. I had a dagger, but…All of us knew it wouldn’t do any good, if caught. It isn’t really a stable job.”

A horse rider? That confirmed it. There was no way they were from the same world. At the same time, she mentioned outposts. Hierarchy Cities perhaps?

“No. I’ve never learned how to use a weapon.” Leana stated with guilt.

That’s a mistake. A messenger on horseback, in a hazardous environment, unable to use a weapon? That’s just begging for trouble. Even if people don’t know you’re a messenger, it’s good to have protection from the bandits and the damon.

“You need your thumb outside of your fist, so you don’t break your hand throwing a punch, your feet need to be spaced enough for balance but not far enough it hampers your movement, like that –“ Alessio seemed to be giving advice, “Now, show me how you throw a punch.”

Leana hurled a punch, which Alessio quickly countered. It wasn’t entirely like how he fought last time. He seemed to evade more, turning the enemy’s strength against them. It seemed logical that he took what he was taught and built on it. Currently, he had Leana in a headlock, with the latter suppressing gagging. She seemed strong. Many Ehrenvoll Knights in his class would have done the same thing. Pain was frequent in their school. Training was brutal. Only the strongest made it through.

“How do you break free?” Alessio asked, trying to assess her strengths.

    … “Bite you?”

Sounded about right. Aiming for eyes too. Although with the position she was in, Leana could potentially flip Alessio over.

“But… you might not taste too good.”

Hades resisted the urge to face-palm.

    “Enough.” Hades finally said.

Hades approached the duo. He could not leave these two like this. “Mrs. Leana, isn’t it? This battle isn’t a strength vs strength. If you can overpower Alessio, that is great, but inefficient. Use your strength in different ways.”

Pointing at Alessio’s knee, Hades added. “For example; positioned correctly and with enough strength, you can knock Alessio to the floor. The possibility you’d go down with him is high, but you’ll still leave Alessio stunned. In a case like that, recovery speed takes priority.”

He was already in this. Might as well go on. “Or, you could use your spare hand and target his face. It doesn’t have to be a fist. It doesn’t have to be precise. Hit an eye and you’ll leave him temporarily blind, if the blow doesn’t kill him. Either way, you could weaken his grip.”

Whether she took his advice or not was up to her. He cannot offer help to those unwilling to listen.
