Supply the group? Who exactly was this Amnesia? Hopefully he wasn’t intimidating like the Necromancer. Although, Hades felt rather skeptical about getting help from Amnesia. This was an individual they didn’t know, who could easily ruin them if he was in the position of power the attendant placed him in.
A glance at his arm told Hades his arm was liberated from the handcuffs. He could slip away while everyone was distracted. Who knows, maybe Alessio was right and the Necromancer had no intention of honoring their bargain.
Alessio was currently gripping Arsene’s arm, probably wanting to get him out of the open. Knowing Arsene however, he probably would dance on the tables just for attention. He did walk on a table just to make a point after all.
“You misunderstand, Alessio.” the attendant rambled on, “He will expect you at the Trial of Fear and Cowardice as soon as you are ready. This city is merely a refuge to resupply and continue.”
Hold on, Trial? Hades didn’t like the sound of that. “Refuge for what?”
He needed more information.
“Please seat yourselves and I will explain everything you need to know.”
Suspicious, Hades sat at the table, one hand still on the Muramasa. Turning off the lights of the prestigious dining room, the attendant activated a projector at the front of the room. On the north wall, above the stairs and elevators, there was an image of sphere. A planet, to be specific.
“This planet represents the world you are in.” the man explained, before the image changed. It showed four other planets surrounding the first one. Four lines linked the other planets to the first on, which was noticeably larger than the others. “The four other planets represent your home world. Through his powers, Lord Amnesia has linked your worlds with his to test you.”
The image changed again, showing a mirror. “These mirrors act as doors to the trials. Touch them and you enter a trial.”
For the last time, the image changed, showing a castle. “Once you complete all the trials, you will enter Amnesia’s castle. What happens when you arrive is Amnesia’s decision.”
“And what if we don’t wish to take part in these trials?” Alessio calls out.
“Then you will die and be reborn into a trial. If you die more than seven times, you will be forever trapped inside the trial you failed.”
Well, that didn’t sound appealing.
