!Contains mentions of violence!Miles started opening the door. Just as it was barely opened, some force slammed back into it and shut it. Startled, Miles leaped back. Inside he heard a voice say “Take as long as you need, no hurry here. It wouldn’t be horrible or devastating in any way if we were caught with an entire stolen safe or anything!”
Concerned at this point, Miles prepares to break down the door. Just as he started charging it though, all went black. Soon he found himself standing inside a small cave-like place, with no entrances or exits. Not even a window to see through. Worried at this point, Miles slowly began turning and looking around, trying to find a way of escape. Then-
“Let go of your hate for the Emperor!”
Miles looked wildly around, searching for the voice. Seeing no one in this little cavern, Miles cocked his head, curious as to what was going on.
Suddenly it seemed to Miles as if he was having hallucinations. Images were flashing across his mind-Many years ago, Miles watched as his father packed a bag full of supplies. Soon he packed it onto a horse and after a few goodbyes, he rode off. Weeks passed by, with no word from him. Not long after hitting the five month mark, Miles’ mom started to get very sad. Soon she lost all hope and within two months, died. Miles had instantly put the blame on the Emperor Saevus, feeling that he was responsible for the death of his mother and the disappearance of his father. But after the war had begun, Miles had soon found his father in the dungeons of the Lord Magus Foedus’ fortress, Arx Bellum Pare. Even though he later killed Lord Foedus, the anger had remained…
But now Miles looked back at all this. He quickly realized that the Lord Foedus was the only one responsible here. And yet still, all the pain the Emperor had caused over the years…
He felt that his anger was justified, though, because Lord Foedus had reported that he had captured Miles’ dad. And then not long after Miles set out for Arx Bellum Pare, Lord Foedus had received orders to transfer him to Arx Ardor… And also, the war. Tens of Thousands of brave soldiers dead because of one man not liking their way of thinking. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers dead in the war. And yet….
What drove Saevus to do this? Miles thought. What is behind all this?
Even as he thought that, the answer came to him…
The Evil Lord. He was the one who had taught Saevus everything he knew. He was the one who had given the Lord Magus Foedus his powers of witchcraft. He was the one who had twisted humans and created the Certa. He was the cause of all the pain and war, Miles realized. He was the one Miles needed to direct his anger at. Which after some brief thought, he did. The Emperor was just a tool to the Evil Lord.
And immediately after he came to that conclusion and let his hate towards the emperor go, an exit from the room revealed itself. Which Miles proceeded to follow.
I had to write that on the fly because I had never thought about this lol.
