Amnesia gazed into the map of the mirrors. The tests were going as planned. Everything was going well, except for two variables. Nithel and Nathair.

Through powers unknown to man, Amnesia summoned the two anomalies.

“You have no guilt in this trial.” Amnesia stated to Nithel. “For you to remain here would be a waste of time. Go to the Trial of Fear and Cowardice.”

    Nithel vanished, leaving the serpent.

“You are a failure. I can see why your father didn’t love you.”

Instantaneously, four spears, all from different directions, impaled Nathair. Amnesia only sat on his throne, observing Nathair’s lifeless corpse.

“Go, restart in the next trial. Be warned though, you will only have two more chances. Perhaps you will do better in the next trial.”

Nathair would restart in another mirror with the others. Now, it was time to check on the others.

Burn Nocturn. He was the guiltiest of this sin. In fact, it was his flaws that assisted in forming the mirror. Amnesia hardly had to exert any power to create the Mirror of Greed.

    “Do you admit your guilt?”

Amnesia had no problem remaining in the emptiness. Burn, on the other hand, wouldn’t have much time. Five minutes at the maximum. Even now, he was desperately smoking the room to use his power effectively.

“Okay. I’m selfish. I killed people. You don’t have to lecture me on it. I know. I heard it all from Search.”

Good, he admitted it. This wouldn’t take too long.

“Look. I just…” He was making excuses. “Ya’know what. Whatever! It’s been stacked against me my whole life. Justice is a lie. Peace. Freedom. Love.”

“Do not make excuses,” Amnesia started, “You’ve committed so may sins that you can’t ever hope to make amends for all of them.”

Lacking any form of humanity, Amnesia continued. While he spoke, a black energy went from Burn’s body to Amnesia. “You are all alone. Nobody is going to care about you.”

There was nothing more to say. Amnesia left. Now he had to wait to see what the mirror would do next.

(Well, can’t wait to see how this mess ends.)
