For a second the entire room was quiet.

Then Arsene slowly turned, a smirk stealing across his face. Alessio instantly had misgivings.

“Oh, woe is me.” He crooned, slowly stepping back toward the window.

“Wait, w-what are you doing…?” Alessio stammered. What kind of trick…?

“Woe is me. I guess I’m the ultimate embodiment of evil. I probably deserve death.” Is he actually going to do it? Did he have something outside the window to catch him? What kind of trick was this!?

    It’s a game…

Alessio crossed his arms, feigning more confidence than he felt.

“You’re bluffing.” If he acted like he didn’t care, Arsene wouldn’t have any motive to jum–

    He jumped.

What the devil are you doing!?!?” Alessio dashed to the window before he could think. That idiot couldn’t die!?! Somehow he yanked Arsene back in the nick of time.

You can’t just defenestrate yourself any time you don’t get what you want!?! What are you…” He faded off as the robber smirked up at him slyly. And dropped him on the floor, but Arsene caught himself before he fell. Alessio narrowed his eyes at him.

“Thanks for saving me again, just like you did back in the back. You cared while we were in the bank, even when you knew I was a criminal.”

Alessio might’ve punched him if he thought that would wipe that smug grin off his face. But the robber continued, just as self-satisfied as ever.

“You cared now, because you think I have information on your friend. A friend I don’t even know the name of.”

Alessio glared murderously at Arsene. Checkmate; they both knew Alessio couldn’t kill anyone, and Arsene knew how to use that to its full advantage. But, he also wasn’t used to someone having that kind of confidence in him…it was unnerving…

“I’m still mad at you.” Alessio said as if it were the worst curse and badge of shame that could be bestowed on someone.

“You’re just like that kid I met.” Arsene sighed.

“Arsene’s a stupid name,” he blurted “Do you have an actual name?”
