Aw, man! That is so depressing! :'( I’ve had similar things happen. SE secretly hates us and often tries to destroy our posts. Maybe next time you could try copying it every so often as you write, so if it disappears you can paste it back in and keep going. (SE is foiled and it’s such a wonderful feeling of revenge–ahem, relief).
