Tullian
For a moment he couldn’t see anything. Then, gradually, his eyes cleared. He was standing in a library. Or, it ought to have been a library. But it was very small and dusty compared to the ones he was used to.
There weren’t libraries in Cuth, where my parents still live.
He wished he had more spare coins to send them. He shook himself, remembering that he didn’t know where he was yet.
There were people in the room. 7, or so it looked like. Most were standing, staring at him, or at one another. One of them had his hands on the huge curtains, along with one of his feet.
Tullian raised an eyebrow. People didn’t climb curtains in the castle.
At first glance he couldn’t tell what the atmosphere was in the room. I should be able to do that by now. He closed his eyes and took a step toward them.
Annoyance.
a little bit of fear.
That’s all he could tell.
He opened his eyes and blushed. He must look pretty stupid to everyone.
