Hi! I’m Emily.
L.M. Montgomery, C.S. Lewis, Brandon Sanderson, Shannon Hale, Adelaide Thorne, Nova McBee, A.M. Sohma, Melanie Cellier, and watch me go on and on…Ha! Lewis is in my favorite authors! (along with Laura Ingalls Wilder, Dorothy Sayers, and Shakespeare.) Which books do you like by him? (fiction or non-fiction?) I just reread the Chronicles or Narnia–as you can see by the quote on the bottom of my post, lol.
I also love fairytales–not Disney, though they’ve done a decent job, but the real gritty stuff. (Actually, I prefer Andersen over Grimm because the latter is a bit too gritty, if you know what I mean.) That stuff sneaks into my writing all the time as well.The Grimm fairy tales are a bit too grim, what? ( ;D). I’m starting a retelling of Sleeping Beauty with role reversals (so Sleeping Beauty is a prince, and the one who kisses him is a princess) somehow it has turned into a time travel story as well, so…
