Hey! This is a good question.

I would like to remind you, that as a writer this is within your field of work. It’s not something out of your pay-grade, so to speak.

I would recommend that you think about what kind of character and story you want… and then build your research off of that. Have a point in your head that is maybe the heart of the story which is the grounding point of your research. It may be a building, a person, a story idea… but it should be something you want to create. Then as you build that character (for example [my personal choice]), questions will arise and you can answer them by research, and in doing so learn more than just what you wanted to answer.

It’s a creative process that you are equipped for as a writer. That doesn’t mean it won’t be hard… but you have a skill set to work with. 🙂
