RON’S POV

Ron looked up as Emberyn approached him. The strained look on Emberyn’s face startled Ron.

“What’s wrong?” The red-head asked, growing tense.

“It’s Hermione,” Emberyn said painfully. “Macha got her. She’s in the other room now. But Amberly… we think that she’ll be all right.”

“Oh,” Ron paled slightly. “I… I sure hope you’re right, Emberyn.”

The two boys looked up as the door opened. Ahsoka stepped in, followed by a tall, dark-skinned man. He scanned the roomful of people with sharp, darkling eyes. His posture and manner spoke of mild caution and well-concealed attentiveness.

“Everyone,” Ahsoka smiled. “Meet Rupert Greeves, our new… ally.”
