Well, I guess, let’s get down to business to defeat this story!

The book was glowing! The entire freaking book was glowing! Ehud was totally not panicking!! Ax Girl dropped it on the floor with a loud Clap! that Ehud seconded. Ducking behind Ax Girl he yanked her back in case it exploded. Incidentally, she was in the middle of slamming him into the wall when everything shattered into darkness and that was the last thing he remembered.

And bright whatever it is. Maybe he fell asleep during a major school exam that he didn’t prepare for (It wasn’t as if they could afford school anyway; the government enforced schooling very strictly because they had all their propaganda ready-made there. Homeschooling was, naturally, illegal as was most self-taught knowledge). On the other hand, he might have been knocked out but then his head would hurt way more than it did.
Dazed, Ehud propped on his elbows and tried to tug a gnarled matt of hair out of his field of vision. It was bright and they were outside or something. A courtyard? Did somebody have an ax…? Sun-heated stone tile dug uncomfortably into his tailbone. Some weird winged Tom Thumb…It wasn’t a dream?
“Ok…so ‘Lord Castle’ likes teleporting people, am I right?” On a sudden impulse, Ehud leapt to his feet and started looking around in a semi-panic. “Where’s the books I stole?!…or borrowed or whatever…”
There was one book lying open on the paneled floor still oozing a half-glow before it went out. Where was everyone else!?! Ehud did not want to be here alone. At all. Slamming the book shut, he darted around the overgrowth of wild flowers craning out of their respective gardens, trying to soak in the new scenario. Then he halted abruptly and ran a hand through his hair because he couldn’t quite remember everyone’s names.
“Um…Calis…Cal…Ax Girl!? Ahab! Erin! Mr Fairy! Help?” He started shouting and dashing through the winding yard until he nearly bowled over someone who dodged in the nick of time while he skidded to a stop.
