Many popular books change POV later in the series like the Divergent Series and the Percy Jackson series. It can take away from the reader’s experience in some cases but in others it enhances the storytelling.

There’s not rule either way that can’t be broken! I think if it clicks really well, adds something fresh to each book narrative and there’s a valid reason to change it. Especially shifting from 3rd person to 1st person should be really good because 1st person is considered more immersive, so it should draw the readers in deeper I think!
