I am Joshua Scheele, and I am new here. I grew up as a pastor’s kid and was homeschooled. People say I am ambivert. I owe that to the many blessings and trials God has brought into my life with the lessons he has taught me. My biggest passion God has blessed me with is creativity. Probably like many of you, I was raised on Lord of the Rings and Narnia. After reading through my favorite fantasy series, Redwall by Brian Jacques, I wrote some of my own short stories just for myself till I went to college.

I recently just got back into writing, but this time for everyone to read. I love to read and listen to stories, especially fantasy and some sci-fi. I am running out of good and clean novels to read. If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate it. I also started learning digital illustration/graphics design and programming. I hope to combine those with writing to make some cool projects to make my story and world come to life.

I am working on my first book. It centers on a world in my universe. The world is dark and full of danger, mostly due to a great war that unleashed monsters into the world. It is set in a medieval age with some elements that seem magical but they are not. The focus will be on a band of people who have lost nearly everything due to attacks. However, they choose to remain faithful to always do what is right to honor the creator of the universe. They will go on a journey to rebuild and take this war to the enemy. I would love to say more but would hate to give everything away. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to share my story. I have the first draft of the prologue and 1st chapter done.

I am really thankful for Story Embers and the help they provide. I am new to writing and enjoy every moment of it as I learn to be better. I look forward to getting to know everyone here.
