Activity

Brendin stood silently as those around him conversed and went around the room.  He decided he trusted Virtus – the man seemed eager to befriend others, and had an earnest demeanor.  He did not like the Commander.  The man was obviously a liar.  It was easy for Brendin to see he was just as lost and confused as any of the others, yet he put on an air of superiority and leadership.

Brendin caught his gaze for a moment.  “You must have practice, to lie so easily.”

Vulferym raised a brow.  “You sound like the lad.  Brendin, was it?”

“It was.”  Brendin still stared at the man. It was beginning to make him uncomfortable, Brendin could tell. Eyes were the windows of the soul after all, and Brendin’s looked out upon something dark. Something bruised and bleeding, twisted. Something mutilated until it turned feral and vicious.

“And who are you?” Brendin asked. There was a dangerous thread in his voice.
