Hello, other historical fiction people!

I write a lot of animal stories that historical time frames and constraints don’t really apply to, BUT…when I write people stories…

Favorite time periods and figures? Civil War and post-Civil War eras…not so much the war part as the fashion/technology/pioneer lifestyle…no specific figures come to mind off the top of my head, but I’ll probably think of some two days from now… 😛

Best historical novels/authors? I really like Lynn Austin’s historical fiction because it’s accurate enough I don’t cringe. Again, I’m sure there are names I’m just not thinking of at the moment. I also like reading classics from the actual period they’re set in.

Current WIP? I’m working on a story set in the 1870s, in which a girl who’s been living in total isolation for over a decade decides its high time she left that life behind…and then she runs into a fella who’s come out West for the main purpose of getting away from people because he’s fed up with humanity. I’m kind of pantsing this story, but I think they’re going to be interesting together. xD
